Vision Discernment

Through twenty years of work with churches and non-profit organizations, I have developed insights and methods to help leaders move into and through the process of self-differentiation that clarifies vision and opens horizons for new action.

Important tools for this process are 

  • moving through the "U" as described by Scharmer and Senge
  • appreciative inquiry (David Cooperrider)
  • understanding self-differentiation (Ed Friedman)
  • adaptive v. technical change (Ron Heifetz)
  • "moving off the map" (Bandy and Easum)

I do not offer a formula approach to any leader or organization.  Rather, I contract with an organization to be present through a substantial discovery and questioning process, both with individuals and with groups.
